You’ve got a moment. That’s the idea behind the videos and, more or less, the reason this site exists: stop the scroll with a story and leave you wanting to know more.
WeTheComuna makes short animated videos about people who imagined a different world and set out to build it: workers who organised, artists who resisted and movements that changed millions of lives. Milo, our history postman, brings each dispatch and introduces people who too often get pushed out of the frame.
A short video can’t tell a whole life. It can open a door. So every video comes with a Comuna Journal article: under 1,000 words, more context, a detail that didn’t make the cut and free links so you can explore the sources for yourself. No paywall. No endless lecture.
We’re not shy about this: we want to recover the history that gets forgotten and push back when racism and fascism try to pass as normal or inevitable. We don’t think history is made only by people in power. It’s made by people who organise, create, care and say “enough”.
The shop brings together original illustrations and exclusive WeTheComuna character goods. Every quarter, the founder will donate 10% of the whole project’s net profits to UNRWA, including the shop, supporter contributions, content and music. It’s another way to turn an idea into tangible support, not an automatic donation handled by Etsy.
