Sankara: history, video and sources
Not this time. The revolution needs another turn of the pedals.
Ouagadougou
Thomas Sankara was assassinated alongside twelve comrades during the coup that brought his friend and fellow revolutionary Blaise Compaoré to power. Sankara was 37. Compaoré ruled Burkina Faso until 2014.
In April 2022, a military court in Ouagadougou sentenced Compaoré in absentia to life imprisonment for complicity in the assassination. Allegations of French involvement still demand clarification. The agents in this game caricature counterrevolutionary forces; they are not a reconstruction of the assassination.
